Terms of service
Last updated: July 10, 2026
These terms govern your use of VoxAccalia, operated by VoxAccalia LLC (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy policy.
The service
VoxAccalia lets you record or upload voice clips, view acoustic measurements (pitch, resonance, intonation), save personal baselines, track practice over time, and optionally share a recording with a private link. A limited guest demo is also available without an account.
The service is for personal voice practice—not clinical, legal, or employment decisions about how others perceive you. See our How it works page for what the measurements can and cannot mean.
Guest demo
The demo is a preview only. It does not create an account, and demo audio is not stored on our servers the way signed-in practice is. Demo use is subject to fair-use limits and the separate rules in our Privacy policy.
Your account
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your password secure.
- Passwords must meet our strength rules (at least 12 characters with mixed case, numbers, and symbols) when you register or change your password.
- You may optionally enable two-factor authentication (authenticator app) from Account. If you enable it, you are responsible for keeping your authenticator or recovery codes available to sign in.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.
- We may require a valid email address and email verification before you can use core features.
- Registration may be invite-only or require a beta token during limited rollouts. We may refuse or close registration at our discretion.
- Do not share your login or use the service for unlawful, abusive, or automated scraping purposes.
- Sign in to keep your account. Free accounts with no sign-in or new recording/upload for about 365 days may be deleted automatically, along with stored recordings and scores. Signing in or saving a clip counts as activity. We email you about 30 days before a scheduled inactive removal (with an opt-out link for that warning email). Accounts with an active Supporter or Pro subscription are not removed for inactivity. See the Privacy policy for how automated removals are logged.
Your content
You retain ownership of recordings you upload. You grant us a limited license to store, process, analyze, and display your content back to you (and to people you explicitly share a link with) so the service can operate.
Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, or content that violates others’ privacy or rights.
Sharing
Sharing is off by default. If you turn on a share link for a completed recording, anyone with that link can play the audio and view scores until the link expires (about 30 days unless you extend or turn it off sooner) or until you disable sharing. Treat share links like private credentials—people who receive them may forward them. Active share links may keep audio available longer than your plan’s usual retention window, as described in the Privacy policy. Supporter and Pro subscribers may show a small supporter badge on shared pages.
Scores and disclaimers
Measurements and percentages are automated estimates from audio—not judgments of identity, gender, health, or how listeners will react. Some charts compare your acoustics to published population references or baselines you choose; those are practice context, not a verdict on who you are. Results vary with microphone, room, passage, and health. Do not rely on the service for medical, surgical, or mental-health decisions.
Communications
We send account-related email (verification, password reset, billing receipts through Stripe, and similar messages you need to run the service). We may also send a one-time note after signup if you have not recorded yet, optional practice reminders if you opt in, optional weekly practice summaries and practice goal check-ins if you opt in, and inactive-account warnings before deletion. How those emails work—and how to opt out—is described in our Privacy policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Use the service to harass others or distribute malware.
- Circumvent storage, rate, or access limits.
- Resell or commercially exploit the service without our permission.
- Use share links to publish someone else’s voice without their consent.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or pose risk to the service or other users.
Storage, retention, and export
Audio is removed on a schedule while metrics and clip titles usually remain so you can track progress. Free and Supporter plans keep audio for about 60 days; Pro keeps audio for about 360 days. Favorited clips and personal baselines are protected from automatic audio cleanup until you delete them or your account.
Storage caps, favorites limits, and upload rate limits apply to your plan. Free accounts are limited to about 30 new recordings or uploads per day (Pro: about 50). You can delete individual recordings or your entire account from the app. Account also offers a personal data export (ZIP with metrics and any audio still on disk), limited to about 3 downloads per day. See the Privacy policy for full retention and deletion details.
Optional paid plans (Supporter and Pro)
The core app is free — recording, analysis, charts, sharing, and baselines are not paywalled. Optional monthly subscriptions help support development and hosting. Paid plans only raise capacity limits (storage, audio retention, favorites, and upload rate). They do not unlock core features that free accounts cannot use.
- Supporter (5 USD/month) — same capacity as the free plan; supports ongoing development and may show a supporter badge.
- Pro (10 USD/month) — higher limits, including 500 MB storage, 360-day audio retention, 200 favorites, and higher upload rate limits (vs. 200 MB, 60 days, 50 favorites on the free plan).
Checkout and plan management appear when billing is enabled for the service. Current plan details and pricing are shown on your Account before you subscribe. We may change prices or limits for new subscriptions with reasonable notice; changes to existing subscriptions follow Stripe’s and our billing rules at the time.
Billing and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. You manage payment method, plan changes, and cancellation from Account → Manage billing (Stripe’s customer portal).
- Charges renew automatically each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- If you cancel, you keep access to paid capacity through the end of the current billing period, then limits return to the free tier (or Supporter tier, if applicable).
- We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months unless required by law or explicitly stated at checkout.
- Failed payments may pause or end your subscription after Stripe’s retry process.
- Free accounts pay nothing. Taxes may apply depending on your location and will be shown at checkout when applicable.
Billing questions: voice@accalia.gay or Stripe’s receipt and portal emails for payment-specific issues.
Ending your account
You may delete your account anytime from Account. Deletion removes your recordings, analyses, audio, baselines, and support history from our active systems, cancels an active subscription where applicable, and may leave a short anonymous churn record as described in the Privacy policy.
We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms, remain inactive for the period above, or when we discontinue the service.
Availability and changes
We strive for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify features, limits, or these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is.” We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on scores. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or USD $50 if you have not paid anything).
